Episode 3: “Original Sins”

"You two are not ordinary vampyres, huh? I’m guessing you’re the Originals. Un-killable by ordinary wooden stakes! Congratulations you just made yourself of more use to me alive than dead-”, said Xoro as he watched Rebekka and Matt in curiosity; his eyes shimmering with pride.
“As you now know who we are, I wouldn’t waste my time telling you how powerful we originals are... rather I’ll just show you-”, said Rebekka as she quickly unclamped her hands off the iron cuffs and threw away all the wooden stakes that pierced her body and those that pierced Matt’s. But, as she tried to get up and attack Xoro, she couldn’t move a single step. It appeared as if she had been bound by some spell which prevented her to take so much as a single step ahead.
“What have you done?” She asked in rage.
“Oh, it’s only a spell to keep you in check. I thought I’d show you how powerful ‘we’ are-”, saying so Xoro smiled.

“Hello, Katherine sweetheart. I must say that you do look a mess. Human clothing, not one of your attires I take it. Your doppelganger Elena had quite a charm when she was human, which I’m sure you must have noticed and drawn the comparison a zillion times-”, Klaus smiled at the weak human Katherine.
“Thank you, Klaus! But, I feel absolutely fine-”, replied Katherine with her usual air of hauteur.
“You know I could really kill you right now than ever not to mention that I want to. I have waited for 500 years, chasing you down from Italy to New Orleans-”, Klaus grabbed her throat.
“Ughhhh....”. Katherine started choking for breath.
“Calm down, macho Klaus! You don’t want to make a scene here in the middle of the day-”, said Silas who was posing as Damon.
“And how do you dare commanding me...?? Have you forgotten that I’m your sire and the sire to the filthy bloodlines of most vampires on this planet? You have absolutely no power over me and if you don’t shut up, you’ll be the second on my list after her”, whispered Klaus staring at the vulnerable Katherine.

“You may be my ancestor but from all the stories I’ve heard about you, I’d say all these years you have been nothing more than a bitch on personal vendetta-”, Bonnie spoke with disgust in her tone.
“And those have been nothing but stories. I assure you. Wouldn’t you want to know what actually happened?” asked Quetsiyah.
“Sorry. I know that now that I am dead and stuck on this side of the veil with you forever but I’ll pass. I’ll find something else to do than hear your pretty little lies”, saying so Bonnie turned to walk away from her but she stopped suddenly. Standing before her were uncountable witches who blocked her way. This included the coven of the twelve dead witches who were sacrificed to create the expression triangle. Emily and Bonnie’s grandmother, Shiela stood  among them.
“Going somewhere, Bonnie? Now that you’re here, we have plenty of things to sort out-”, said Aja, the witch that Caroline killed in an attempt to save Bonnie and unintentionally offered to the completion of the expression triangle.

“Hey, we know you’re stronger than us. We get it, okay? But, at least tell us what do you want?” Matt was speaking to Xoro. He continued,
“We came here just to study about the origins of the first immortal creature Silas and about the tribe who worshipped him. Are you guys-”, Matt couldn’t finish as Xoro interrupted him.
“What do you two know about Silas?” asked Xoro curiously; his interest in his two captives growing every minute.
“We have him. We have Silas. You could raise him, worship him... do all you want. Now let’s strike a deal, shall we??” Rebekka said in a straightforward tone.
“We don’t make deals with vampyres. Besides, we are not the tribe who worship Silas in case the thought crossed your minds... the tribe you came to study about as you’re proposing. On the contrary, we worship someone else. We are informed by one of our hunters that Silas’ awake and there’s only one person who can keep him from unleashing hell on earth-”, Xoro couldn’t complete.
“Quetsiyah!! You worship Quetsiyah!!” spoke Rebekka. She was awe-stricken at the revelation.
“We’re bringing the veil down and it happens on the next full moon. You two wouldn’t mind staying until then, would you? ” he chuckled.
“Xoro, we know the drill. You cannot fool us. You cannot put the veil down by yourself. You would need a Bennett witch for that and-”, Rebekka was intercepted.
“I have a Bennett witch-”, saying so Xoro turned to one of his men. They were still kneeling down with their heads dipped low.
“Zeenab, ikhlaashef rohetazam”, he spoke in Aramaic. One of the tribesman got up and went away to bring the Bennett witch.

“Klaus, all we need to know now is where Elena is. We have to find her and Katherine’s the only person who knows where she is. We can’t kill her now-”, Caroline explained, trying to simmer down Klaus’ anger and annoyance.
“Okay, you will now tell me exactly where Elena is. You will not try to run or hide and you will not play any games with me-”, Klaus spoke so staring in Katherine’s eyes, compelling her to get the truth out of her.
“I don’t know where Elena is”, Katherine spoke as if she were in some trance.
“Is she on vervain? Now that Mystic Fall’s water supply has vervain in it, all she needed was to drink the town water-” said Caroline.
“I guess then all we can do now is to wait for the vervain to pass down her system”, deduced Klaus.
“Hmm. But, there’s still one thing.  I don’t understand, Damon. You were with Elena this entire summer. How could you lose her to Katherine and how could you mistake this Katherine for Elena. Even a born blind could tell the difference-”, Caroline asked Silas. Silas was not ready for this question to Damon. There fell an awkward silence.

The tribesman brought along with him a woman in her late thirties. The woman was tall and slim. They walked and stood beside Xoro.
“Wait, hold on. I think I know you. I’ve seen you somewhere-”, Matt began recalling his past memories. The face of the woman looked familiar to him.
“How could you possibly know every Bennett witch, Matt?” asked perplexed Rebekka.
“He cannot possibly recall where he saw me but I know him. Stop trying, Matt. You were compelled that day. You wouldn’t remember-”, said the Bennett witch.
“Then why don’t you enlighten us?” asked Rebekka in contempt.
“I am Lucy. I am Bonnie’s cousin. I once helped Katherine find the moonstone. I protected Katherine... did a spell that linked Katherine to Elena. That’s when I bleakly crossed paths with Bonnie, Matt, Jeremy, Elena, and the Salvatore brothers-”
“You’ve been to Mystic Falls??” Rebekka was surprised.
“And the good news is we are all going to Mystic Falls. That’s where the spell needs to be performed-”, said Xoro. A smile visited his face.

Episode 2- "True Lies"

“Aah, Stefan? I thought you were a ‘no show’ in this season?” Damon spoke with the usual contempt in his words. He sounded weak and cried of pain as he was being bled dry. He was lying locked up in the Salvatore mansion basement.
“Why?? So that you could have all the flare, Damon? That’s not gonna happen”, replied Silas. He was standing outside the door. He was watching Damon through the barred slit provided on the iron door.
“So... ahhh... so why did you come back baby bro?” He paused to take a breath. He had lost lot of blood and he looked like he was going to pass out within 24 hours if not fed blood. “Aahh.. I... I take the reason’s Elena again. But, why have you kept me captive in here? I wasn’t on a mass murder rampage or the Jeremy Gilbert-kill-under-Kol-compulsion this time. Why did you bleed me dry?”
“No, you are not the old Damon you once used to be. And I don’t mean it as a compliment. The old atrocious Damon whom Elena used to hate-“, Silas couldn’t finish.
“You’re forgetting something here. Elena’s not the same Elena she once used to be. The one who fell in love with your hero hair. She is a vampire now. And the cure was rammed down Katherine’s throat. So unless there are two Silas’ and two cure, I’m guessing she will remain a vampire forever. Now, get to the point. Why have you held me here? Is it the old ripper you now?”
“Why is everyone so worried about me? Back there, Elena was saying I have turned off my humanity switch and now you’re asking me if I’ve become the old monstrous ripper. You know what, I’m sick of playing this Stefan card now. He seems to be a man with fifty shades of grey. It’s time I tell you who I really am-”, speaking so Silas changed himself to look like Damon now. Like some shape shifter, Silas could look like anyone he wanted. How did he do it? Who was he or what was he?
Damon’s eye fell wide open to see his shadow self standing in front of him.
“Silas! No, this can’t be true. I must be hallucinating. You were all calcified statue of liberty. How... how did you get out?”
“The ‘how’ is not so important, it’s the ‘why you should be more worried about now-” Silas spoke with the charming Damonic accent, playing with his captivating eyes.

“Jeremy!” Caroline ran to him. He was sitting hand-cuffed in Sheriff Thomas Dylan’s office upon Sheriff Forbes’ request earlier when Jeremy had called. Sheriff Forbes followed Caroline into the office. Dylan got up from his seat and walked to her.
“You asked for a little favour, Liz and I did it. Just for old times’ sake-”, he said in his harsh tone.
“Thank you, Tom. I really appreciate it”, said Elizabeth Forbes as she smiled at him.
“You just have 15 minutes before I put this punk behind bars”, said Dylan as he stared at Jeremy before leaving the room. She moved to Jeremy.
“Jeremy, begin from the start. What exactly happened?” Elizabeth asked worriedly.
“All summer, I had been staying at my uncle’s lake-house. Last night, I received a message from Elena saying that she is in trouble and that she wants to meet me at the Salvatore mansion-”, he could not finish.
“It must have been Katherine but how did she get Elena’s cell phone?” Caroline interrupted.
“Aright, go on-”, said Liz.
“The house was locked but I knew where to find the key. Elena has told me where Damon hides it. So, I went inside. I had hardly stepped foot and dropped my bags. I heard the door- bell ring. The rest half of the story I already told you over the phone- ”
“Bringing you back to Mystic Falls was a trap, Jeremy. But, I don’t understand what will Katherine get by getting you arrested?” Sheriff Forbes couldn’t solve the puzzle.
“Mom, if Katherine had Elena’s cell phone, it clearly means Elena’s in danger”, suggested Caroline.
“And so would be Damon. Because they were together this entire summer-”, Sheriff Forbes started connecting the dots.
“No way is Katherine working alone in all of this. She is human now. She wouldn’t dare showing her face-”, Jeremy was interrupted.
“Unless someone is looking after her here in Mystic Falls. But who?” Caroline’s brows constricted in a frown.

“It’s totally against your nature to trust someone so blindly, Katherine. Why did you dare staying in Mystic Falls considering the town’s full of your enemies who want revenge-”, Silas in Damon’s flesh and bones was speaking to Katherine in a cafeteria.
“It’s really nice to see you in Damon’s clothing, Silas. And speaking of trust, I trust no one but myself. I have my reasons to stay in Mystic Falls. What have you called me here for? I know it wouldn’t be just for chit-chat?”, asked she .
“As a matter of fact, I called you exactly for a chit-chat-”, he said. Katherine seemed puzzled. She looked at Silas for rescue.
“Damon’s locked up and Elena’s somewhere safe but Jeremy must have blabbered about you the first thing when he reached the police station. Well, not your fault... the human version of Katherine Pierce doesn’t look much like the Vampire Elena Gilbert-”, Silas giggled.
“I don’t like jokes, Silas. What are you suggesting?” she was irritated.
“What I’m suggesting is if Mystic Falls will see their Damon and Elena in town, they wouldn’t go about hunting for the real 'DELENA', would they??” said he as played with his eyes.
“And right now, we are LIVE-”, said Katherine as she looked at April Young waving at them from a distance.

“Oh...ughhhh.....”, Rebekka groaned of pain as she started gaining consciousness. She was bound to an iron pole with ropes steeped in vervain. Matt was tied in a similar manner beside but he was still unconscious. She looked at him and cried in grief,
“Matt! No, no, no....”, she cried at the thought that Matt had died of the wooden stakes. Tears streaming their way down her olive cheeks.
“You all killed him?? I will kill you all-”, she shouted at the tribesmen all of whom stood in a semi-circle around her, observing the captives in disgust.
“They did not kill him. I did-”, said a voice as a man appeared from behind the tribesmen. All of the tribesmen made way for him in reverence and fell to their knees; their heads dipped low.
“And who might you be?” Rebekka asked in contempt.
“I am Xoro. I’m a witch”, Rebekka quickly glanced at Matt’s hands and heaved a sigh of relief. Matt was wearing Jeremy’s ring. He wasn’t dead. After all Xoro was a witch, a supernatural being. The ring would protect him. Moments later, Matt came back to life with a hiccup.

“Klaus, you gotta help us. Bonnie’s been 'not-reachable' all summer. Elena and Damon are in danger. Katherine’s taken them... God knows where? And there’s  someone helping this Katherine bitch in all of this-”, Caroline spoke to Klaus. They sat at the Mystic Falls grill.
“Why should I help you? I’m not a fan of Damon and Elena having exhausted the only cure on Katherine shall serve no purpose to me anymore, love-”
“How could you say that, Klaus? They’re my friends... our friends. Please....”, she was shocked at the aloofness of Niklaus.
“And here come your friends...”, said he pointing to Silas who was still posing as Damon and Katherine. The two just entered the grill.
“That’s Katherine and not Elena. Look closely-”, Caroline whispered. Klaus observed carefully.
“This will be interesting-”, Klaus cherished at a deep thought.

Season 5 Premiere

Episode 1: “I Know What You Did Last Summer”

“Are you Jeremy Gilbert?” the stoutish sheriff at the door of the Salvatore mansion asked resolutely.
“Yeah, I am. Why? What’s the matter, sheriff?” Jeremy asked perplexed.
“You’re under arrest. We have a complaint against you. You’re charged with an attempt to kill your sister Elena by burning down your own home Besides, you’re also charged for the intake and supply of drugs and faking your own death-”, the sheriff couldn’t finish.
“Whoa, wait. Hold on. You can’t arrest me. There must have been something wrong. Who.. who filed the complaint against me, anyway?” Jeremy was taken aback by the present state of affairs after he sprang back to life by Bonnie’s spell. He looked at the sheriff and two other cops for an answer.
“I did, my little brother-”, Katherine spoke as she showed from behind the sheriff. Her brow raised and she stole a smile for her human countenance. She looked somehow weaker now but her manners had the same pride and confidence.
“Elena??? No, no, no this is not possible... Katherine!” Jeremy gasped silently.
The sheriff nodded at one of his fellow officer who quickly stepped forward and began putting cuffs in Jeremy’s hands.
“Officer, this is a mistake. I’m telling you. Listen to me, please...”, Jeremy fumbled.
“Mr. Jeremy Gilbert, you have the right to an attorney. Also you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say now could be used against you in the court of law-”

“Why are you doing this, Stefan? I thought you loved me-”, Elena asked the man sitting on a chair before her. It was Silas, Stefan’s doppelganger who she was mistaking for Stefan. Elena lay on the ground. Her hands cuffed to the strong iron chains of the old Lockwood cellar.
“Oh, you thought. That sounds fascinating. I believed after being sired to Damon, you left the thinking part on him-”, Stefan spoke with his emotionless tone.
“You’ve turned it off, haven’t you? Your humanity... You’ve flipped the switch. You... you did that because... because of me”, Elena’s eyes were wet with tears at the realisation.
“I am a horrible person, aren’t I? Look, what I did to you! Stefan, I love...-”.
“Damon. You love Damon. Don’t you think I know that? Also I know that you’re not in love with me anymore...  . But, you know what I don’t care, Elena... I should probably go to Damon and say, ‘Hi’... ”

Deep down in the quarry, Stefan, the real Stefan lay captive in the box. His body was weaker than ever. Starving for so long, he could not help himself out of the box even after repeated struggle. Even with his usual vampire strength. Silas made sure of that. Down at that remote island he had been lying and desiccating for over 2000 years until now. Now, his doppelganger is suffering from a similar agony. Was it true then? The fact that the doppelgangers enjoyed making their shadow selves’ lives miserable? Or Silas was playing one of his old tricks by appearing as Stefan? He had done it before with Bonnie, hadn't he???
For a couple of times, Stefan banged the coffin from inside but without much effect. The muffled thuds were only heard by the fishes that swam near him.

“When you first told me we were going on a world trip, I thought you meant only the good, touristy places. What are we doing in these anonymous woods, Rebekka?” said Matt as the two were making their way into the dense forest at night to find a place to camp.
“One of the miseries of being an immortal is that you have visited most parts of the world whether you want or not. We are ageless, humans aren’t. So we cannot stay or they’ll find out about us. Sooner or later, Elena, Damon, Stefan, Caroline and Tyler.... all your friends... will all have to leave Mystic Falls. I hope you’ve fancied this fact?” Rebekka explained. Matt stopped at the thought.
“Yes, Rebekka. I understand that. This is what you get when you make friends with Vampires-”, he smiled. Rebekka smiled back charmingly.
“This is it. I think we should camp here. It’s dark now. We’ll explore the woods further in the morning”, said she as she dropped her travelling gear. Matt nodded and started preparing for their temporary refuge.

“Caroline, the summer break’s almost over. I think you should really reconsider. I mean how long are you gonna wait for Elena and Bonnie to show up before you join college? They’ve called you so many times. Bonnie’s at her mother’s. Elena is moving all over the world with Damon just like Matt and Rebekka.  Come on, they all must have been enjoying their trips”, sheriff Forbes was talking to her daughter. They were seated side by side on Caroline’s bed at their residence.
“I know, mom. I just... I just want us three bffs to go together. To be together. Like we always have-”, replied Caroline.
“I know. I know how it feels, Caroline. But....”, she couldn’t finish as her cell phone crackled to life.
“We are not yet done. The conversation’s not over. I have to take this call”, the sheriff picked it up.
“Sheriff  Forbes?”
“Sheriff Forbes, this is Jeremy. I’m... there’s a problem. I need your help....”, said Jeremy from the other side of the phone. Caroline’s and the sheriff’s brows constricted as they heard Jeremy narrate his problem.

“Are you enjoying it here?” asked Rebekka as she was sleeping naked beside Matt under the canvas. Her head rested on his bare chest.
“You haven’t told me where is here exactly”, replied Matt.
“I have always been a keen learner as far as learning different cultures is concerned. This is the place where lived a tribe which worshipped Silas. Kol told me this once. He was very horrified at the idea of raising Silas, so he put an end to their entire race...”, she stopped at the memory of his fallen brother.
“You miss Kol, don’t you?”
“Yes. He was my brother, Matt. How could I not miss him?”
“Yeah, the brother who wanted to kill you with the white oak stake. Rebekka, Kol is gone for good-”, after an awkward pause he continued averting the topic,
" I must admit, Rebekka it was pretty brave of you to come here. After all, Silas is stronger than any of you Original Vampires. He even fooled Klaus once, didn't he? And-"Rebekka put her finger on his lips as she heard something. Next they noticed a shadow outside their tent.
“What was that?” he lipsed the words without sound. Before they could act, suddenly a number of small wooden arrows were fired. Some of which staked Rebekka in the heart and Matt in his stomach and chest. They fell unconscious. The arrows were laced with vervain.
Next, a gang of tribesmen barged into the tent. They were armed with bows and a quiver of wooden arrows.
“Vampyres-” one of them grumbled looking at others.

“Hello, anybody here? Grams, where are you?” Bonnie was all alone on the other side of the veil. She kept on walking. The other side looked like a dungeon to hold captives of certain kind. Bonnie was perplexed not knowing what to do. Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder. A chill of horror ran past her entire body which was odd as she had no body now, only a soul. She was dead. She turned slowly.
“Bonnie, your grams isn’t here. But, I’m here. I’ll help you, guide you-”, said a young woman dressed in ancient robes.
“Who are you?”
“I’m Qetsiyah...your ancestor. Welcome to this side of the veil-”, she smiled.
